What to look for in a weight loss supplement

In order to lose weight, there are a few factors to consider that a good weight loss supplement will address:

  1. Stress: You need to address stress. When you are stressed (mentally or physically) your body goes into the ‘fight or flight’ response.  When this happens your body immediately stores fat.  It is our coping mechanism.  Your body doesn’t know how long you’re going to fight or run so it needs to store energy for the long term.
  2. Appetite Control: Many of us ‘live to eat’ when we should ‘eat to live’.  We are addicted to food and are surrounded with fast food and junk food.  We need to get our appetites under control.
  3. Blood Sugar: It is imperative to keep our blood sugars balanced. When our blood sugar is out of whack and insulin levels are high, your body compensates by storing fat.
  4. Boost Metabolism: You will lose more weight and much faster if you increase your metabolism.  Putting more wood on your fire will help you burn more fat, even at rest.
  5. Maintain or Gain Muscle: Muscle is metabolically active so the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn at rest.  Many low calorie diets do not allow you to eat enough protein which causes muscle loss.  Try having a protein shake in the morning or as a mid afternoon snack.

  1. Yes please recommend a weight loss supplement that will work in conjunction with blood pressure pills, depression pills  and acid reflux pills. I take these three pills once per day so I would like something the suppressed my appetite… Regards!

      I am happy to help you out. Since you have high blood pressure, you will need to be aware of any supplements that have stimulants in them and stay clear. I am personally sensitive to any stimulants and will only consume caffeine free coffee, tea etc. As well we need to be sensitive to your depression pills and your digestive issues. I think the best product for you would be PGX Daily. This product is simply good fats and fiber and is completely stimulant free. You take it with 1-2 glasses of water 30 minutes before each meal. The fiber will swell in your belly making you full so you don’t over eat. The good fats will break down the bad fats. It’s great for people who need an appetite suppressant. It will not affect your medications but it is very important that you DO NOT take them at the same time as any of your medications as the fiber from the PGX will push out the meds. Drink plenty of water throughout the day but especially when you take this product. Also, stick to the low carb diet that I discuss on this blog.
